The Investigations of Prudence Poivert
Game, set and murder
The die is cast, nothing more to bet!
After a divorce, at 48, Prudence Poivert inherited a superb country house in a small village near Bordeaux. Now well settled, she decides to enjoy her newfound freedom… but village life is deadly boring! To clear her head, Prudence has the funny idea of joining the belote club… which is more like a senior club. A veritable viper's nest where, upon her arrival, her card partner, Mademoiselle Eugénie, is murdered. Prudence discovers her at home in a pool of blood. Without a second thought, her nosy instinct awakens! The new gendarmerie captain concludes it was an accident while Prudence screams murder. Annoyed at being sidelined by the officer, she decides to hunt down the killer.
But Prudence will have to live up to her name and be an ace if she doesn't want to end up on the scrap heap….

“It’s an instant favourite! I loved and savoured rediscovering Prudence, her friends from the theatre club and Albert, the neighbour from the first book. I appreciated, once again, this biting and refreshing humour…”
Eva.

“I loved this second instalment of Prudence’s investigations, read quickly, we are delighted to find this group of good friends tackling a new investigation. Prudence really makes me laugh with this clumsiness that suits her so well…”
Stéphanie.

“After devouring the first instalment of the investigations of Prudence Poivert, a recently divorced woman in her late forties, it was obvious that I would read the second, and one can say that it starts off at full speed!”
Paul.
